Artist & Apprentice

Akiva is rapt as Iris draws

a mama with two boobies, a belly button, eyes, legs—

but as she explains her drawing in detail,

he turns his head to the real mama—

“Eyes, boobies, legs, I love you Mama!”

How we bring in wood.

We found Iris’ wheelbarrow in the middle of the woods this past winter while bushwhacking.

We were looking for trash.

It looked like it had been there a while. We took it home & cleaned it up.

Big piece!

The only problem with the wheelbarrow is:

the front wheels are tiny, the legs are huge, and the handle flexes.

If there’s any weight in it, it’s impossible to push.

After removing a log, Iris was able to push her barrow to the window where we bring the wood through.

Martin went inside. Iris handed him wood.

After a few loads, the rack is full & the wheelbarrows are put away.

Time for a little scootering.

Out-of-Order

I posted some images that I took a while ago.

They show up in their correct places.

If you’re a regular reader, you won’t notice unless you do some scroll-scroll-scrolling.

“Lifestyle” Product Photography

Iris says she only let me take her photo because I was really just taking photos of the doll.

The sun was in her eyes.

It was cold.

It is not very interesting to just stand there and look at a camera.

I didn’t want her to just stand there and look at the camera.

I wanted her to keep the doll off the muddy lawn

and to make it look even cuter than cute.

Iris is, by far, the cutest little girl I’ve ever made.

The dolls are getting consistently cute, too.

This one would be perfect, only her body is on backwards.

Tho you wouldn’t have known if I didn’t tell you 😉

Settlers at Shelburne Farms

I subbed Brittany’s Hike-it-Baby hike today. I decided that if I was going to lead a hike, I would go where I wanted to. So we went to Shelburne Farms, to see if the sap was running and the syrup house boiling. When we got there, the first sap had just hit the first boil at the new sugar house! Then we took a good hike. There were 7 adults & 8 kids, including me & mine.
